Therapy Terms & Conditions (Psychological Contract)
Before committing to therapy, it’s essential to understand the terms and conditions of our services. These legally binding terms outline your responsibilities as a client:
1 – Session Duration – Assessments and therapy sessions are 50 minutes each. Arriving 15 minutes late or more will be considered a missed session, and the full fee will apply.
2 – Confidentiality – Therapy sessions are generally confidential. Personal information disclosed will be discussed and recorded securely. However, we are legally obligated to protect the public and individuals, so there may be instances where we disclose information in the interest of safety. Examples include clients at risk of suicide, serious self-harm, or child abuse.
3 – Cancellation Policy – We require a 48-hour notice for appointment changes or cancellations. Failure to provide adequate notice will result in a full fee charge.
4 – Refunds – A full refund will be provided only in the rare event that the therapist cancels the appointment.
5 – Clinical Supervision – Your case may be presented to my supervisor during regular clinical supervision sessions. This ethical and professional requirement enhances our practice and ensures the best possible service for you.
6 – Session Notes – I will take notes both during and after our therapy sessions. These notes are stored confidentially with identifiable information removed.
7 – Audio Recordings – Occasionally, I may audio record our sessions, with your awareness and consent. Audio recordings are stored confidentially and used for note-taking and supervision purposes.
